I am a Climate Modeller at the British Antarctic Survey. I use Machine Learning to improve the representation of extreme weather in the Antarctic. I am particularly interested in precipitation events and how they evolve in a changing climate. During my PhD at Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon and the Max Planck Institute of Meteorology, I developed machine learning based emulators of Lagrangian cloud microphysics schemes to improve the representation of clouds and precipitation in Climate models. I am also working on developing strategies to create hybrid models that couple atmospheric models with machine learning components.
